Hidden.

When talking about the past and history, it is possible to assume that it can be easily rewritten, therefore, I am becoming more skeptical about an objective assessment of history and in what form the past exists or if it truly exists at all. As it can be easily altered and manipulated. I am becoming more interested in the concept of the one-sided interpretation of historical facts or as I would use the term “mythoconstruction of the past” during totalitarian epochs in the country I was born( here I mean the USSR). In the project “Hidden” through the use of a representational language of images, I am trying to re-write and therefore re-invent the sensation of the recollection of the past. The theme of memory, rather the collective memory, and its partial disposal are the main components of this series of works.

“ I imagine a world without memory, without time; I toyed with the possibility of language that had no nouns, a language of impersonal verbs or indeclinable adjectives. In these reflections, many days went by, and with the days, years. Until one morning, something very much like joy occurred-the sky rained slow, strong rain.”
